The SEC Staff has supplemented its Telephone Interpretations Manual to include some frequently asked questions about the Commission’s new Regulation FD. The update is available at the SEC website, at http://www.sec.gov/offices/corpfin/phonits4.htm

Regulation FD was adopted by the Commission on August 10, 2000, and became effective on October 23, 2000. The regulation is designed to promote the flow of information to the public, and to stop selective disclosure of information from public companies.

SEC telephone interpretations include responses to questions given by members of the staff, are informal in nature, and do not necessarily represent the views of the Commission.
